The site is dedicated to the collecting and preservation of implements and historical records related to the art of shaving. It is designed to allow and encourage the easy exchange of information among its members and is open to all collectors from all nations of the world with an interest in shaving memorabilia.
When visiting this site, you are encouraged to register. Registration will permit you to access the many features of the site that are, in part, unavailable to non-registrants. One feature is the Encyclopedia where you will find photos and descriptions of both common and rare shaving items in categories for safety razors, straight razors, stroppers and sharpeners, razor blades, mugs, hones, advertising, and other shaving memorabilia. With permission, you will also be able to upload photos and descriptions of some of your prized possessions.
In the Forum, you will be able to ask registered experts questions. Many of these experts are widely known for their extensive collections and expertise and will be happy to share their knowledge and experience with you.
A Classified Ads section will allow you to sell or swap items. Items are posted for a specified period with transaction details negotiated between seller and buyer or swapping parties.
Many other features of this site will become apparent over time, such as announcements of upcoming IOSM meetings, new publications, and directory of members.
